Intruder Alarms

Intruder alarms are a fact of life today.

Intruder Alarm Overview

A simple alarm system consists of a controller, a siren, flashing light or other output and at least one detection device. The detection devices provide the data and the control panel is the essential element of the system and makes all the decisions. It is at the controller that a user arms and disarms the system and programs it to react to the various input messages and produce the desired output or result.

A short delay before it operates gives a person time to enter and disarm the system before it can begin its cycle of activation. Alarm system controllers are in a metal box and have a circuit board. The detection devices may detect sound, vibration, movement, heat or smoke.

Keypads allow people with the proper code to alarm and disarm the system.
